Into the mind of madness.

Mon May 8, 2006, 4:40 PM
There are many things that inspire a person to be great, However greatness and madness are often confused. There are various events that have shaped my art.

1. I was electrocuted when I was four. I never was the same. I learned to fear death at such a young age.

2. My dear father. My inspiration was diagnosed with a terminal illness when I was six. My life became that of a nurse and maid. I struggled to keep our family as together as possible

3. Smoking pot, popping pills, drinking, and doing other various drugs from 6th grade to sophomore year maddened my mind.

4. I saw I video made by Danny Gomez while on opium and pills. The visions that followed that experience forever bless my mind. It led me into a world beyond our own. However it drove me deeper into my own madness.

5. I saw a Toulouse Lautrec gallery. I learned to loath the rich, and love the bohemian spirit.

6. Because of medical bills and unemployment my family lost their status as upper class and became upper lower class. We were disowned by other prestigious parts of the family.

7. Smoking too much pot and drinking too much led me to a hallucination. I envisioned the universe and I saw every aspect of it. I also had sever alcohol poisoning and nearly died. The visions of godliness inspire me to show the world what I have seen (without drugs).

8. My brother abandoned the family during the darker years of my fathers illness. I had to now take his responsibilities as well as several of my fathers as his condition worsened.

9. I had one last bender of my drug life. I haven’t smoked anything or popped any pills sense. My mind is now sharpened like a syringe ready to pierce the skin of humanity and fill its veins with the sad truths iv realized and the lessons I have learned.

10. My father died in my arms. For the first time In 10 years my heart felt peace. With my fathers passing I knew his suffering was finally over. I was glad to say I was by his side the entire time.

11. I finally had time to work on my artistic outlet. My first works were childish in quality and lacked meaning. I vowed to make only art that speaks from my mind and my soul. Many people were unable to understand the meanings of my works.

12. Now today life is going well. I have my health, what’s left of my family, and a future ahead of me. There is now warmth to my art. And I have a greater understanding of the normal world.

13. My mind is occasionally haunted by disturbing images. It is now my goal to capture these dreams and show them to the world.
